Why Cold Pressed Sesame Oil, you ask?

Oils lose their molecular structure when heated, which leads to the production of cancer-causing free radicals. When consumed, heated oils can cause cardiovascular disease and make it more difficult for the blood to transfer oxygen effectively owing to arteriosclerosis.

Acne and bad body smell may both be caused by consuming heated oils.

Since the oils have not been cooked, they retain their nutritional profile, their fats are unaltered, they taste fantastic, and they last a long time. This is because they are less prone to go rancid rapidly.

This oil is known as til ka tel or til oil in North India and Tamil as Nal Ennai.

Wood Pressed Sesame Oil Production:

Cleaning and sun drying are both done to fresh sesame seeds. However, it appears that the quality and flavour of the resultant oil depend on this drying process.

A woodpress (Marachekku) is then used to press the dried sesame seeds with palm jaggery (Panai Karuppatti).

Oil containing proteins is produced by this pressing.

These oils are given four days to "Settle" in settling tanks.

No refinement process or preservatives are applied; the oil is simply filtered and packaged.
